Our 2nd time around organising a fight event for your viewing pleasure and it was a roaring success.

And it's all thanks to you, our TNT members, guests, friends & family for showing up to support!

Of course, this event could not have happened without the support of our friends. Namely :

Stay tuned for more pictures and videos coming soon. In the meantime, read the little highlights in the rest of this article by clicked on read more (below).
Picture
Juan, 'The Spaniard' (as the emcee was referring to him during the fight) and Victor went the full 3 rounds. And they battled their hearts out. Barely able to stand in the 3rd round, they mustered enough strength to finish strong.

However, Juan came out the winner by points!

Picture
'The Red Fox' Michael Lim came out roaring in this one. You Huat did his best to withstand the barrage of punch combinations that rained down on him but took one blow too many in the second round and the Referee called it!

Michael came out on top and was announced winner by TKO.

Picture
These two were the youngest Fighters of the lot. Both 15 years old, they came out punching and kicking fearless. As both are agile and quick - the punch and kick combo exchanges were lightning fast. However, in the 2nd round, Dominic got through Jeremy's defense and gave him a bloody nose!

The Referee called it when the bleeding wouldn't stop, Dominic as Winner by TKO!

Picture
The women put up as strong a show as the men did! They both came in strong. Although the fight seemed to favour 'Ice Cool' Ella most of the time, Wayne stood her ground and took everything Ella could dish out. And even fought back despite taking a lot of bone crunching hits.

However, in the end, Ella was declared Winner by points!

Picture
These two fighters are new and have little experience in the ring. That being said, although a little hesitant in the beginnning - once they found their legs in the ring, they rained combinations down on each other!

But Yee Cheong managed to read 'Happy Killer' Han Yen a little better; got through his defense effectively and was declared Winner by points.

Picture
Tim and Sunil are train-a-holics. They've got the stamina of a work horse and can go for hours! This was clearly shown during their 3 full rounds. Especially for Sunil, who took a few solid knees right into the solar plexus but managed to find the strength to stand up again and finish the rounds.

However, Tim was the better fighter this time and was declared Winner by points!

Picture
This was an anticipated fight in this event. Both fighters with a fair amount of experience and it showed when they came out in the first round aggressively executing punch/kick combos! However, a well placed roundhouse from Khairy aggravated an old injury of Marc's.

Although he managed to finish the 1st round, another well placed roundhouse forced him to call it quits in the 2nd round. So, Khairy was declared the Winner by TKO.

Picture
This fight started out very strong. Raymond showing his kicking prowess with a smooth combination of sidekicks and back-kicks. Azhari looked a little fazed but focused on holding his ground, throwing 1-2 punches followed by solid roundhouses.

It looked like the strategy was about to pay off for Azhari until Raymond got in a well placed roundhouse of his own which dislocated Azhari's shoulder!

The Referee then of course called the match after the Doctor checked on Azhari's shoulder to confirm the injury and Raymond humbly accepted the Winner title by TKO.

The RED DRAGON FIGHT EVENT has two purposes:
  1. To provide a platform for new, up and coming fighters to showcase their talent.
To showcase Professional Fighting as a legitimate sport in Malaysia.
  2. To showcase how basic knowledge of martial arts and self defence can keep one safe.
Hence, "The Best Offence is Self-Defence".

Master Khoo (aka The Red Dragon) and TNT Kickboxing wants to do more than just be a gym giving you the best workout possible. They want to show that Kickboxing and other Full Contact martial art forms can keep you fit, keep you safe and is a legitimate sport that should be highlighted more in Malaysia.

<![CDATA[Red Dragon Fight Night 2009]]>Tue, 08 Nov 2011 19:45:34 -0800http://www.tntkickboxing.com/3/post/2011/11/first-post.html
19 December 2009 . Saturday . 8.30pm

Mark that date down folks. It was a historic moment for Master Khoo and TNT Kickboxing. For the first time ever, we dug our heels in and organized a fight tournament for your viewing pleasure.

12 Fights, 1 Night. 24 Fighters. Over RM 1000 in donations collected. 120 spectators.

We could not have done it without the support of:
  • The Rental House : For putting the night down in video.
  • Viva Vertical : For putting a pole & a dancer in the ring.
  • MMATC : For putting fighters in the ring with us.
  • Marigold : For putting sponsored drinks for the event.
  • YOU : For watching, participating, assisting and for spreading the word.
Read on for what went down, with video and pictures!
As we started setting the stage and preparing the gym for the event, we found that TNT folk are a punctual bunch with everyone arriving well before our scheduled time of 6.00 pm to kick off.

6.00 pm:
Master Khoo gathered the fighters and briefed them on what was to happen and how the night was going to flow. The mixture of eagerness and trepidation amongst the fighters filled the air. Especially since for most of them, it would be their first time stepping into the ring for a tournament fight.

6.30 pm:
By this time, the first few fighters were warmed up and rearing to go. Whilst, the crowd were already gathered round both sides of the ring.

Michael and Mark were the emcees / commentators for the night and kick things off with a short introduction of what was to come and what the general rules were.

Para ‘The Black Panther’ Silvadorae VS Brian ‘The Silver Hawk’ Wang
The first fight of the night began. Both Para and Brian are students here at TNT with a lot of interest to fight. They have attended several FIGHT classes with Master Khoo and were eager to put their skills to the test in a competition environment. For first time fighters, they showed no sign of fear and only small hints of trepidation in the ring. Their training with Master Khoo showed and they did not hold back, going at each other with strong punches and kicks.

Both having sparred with each other before, they were quite evenly matched. At the end of 3 Rounds, the Judges called it a draw and they fought a 4th round to determine the winner.

Final Decision: 3 Round Draw | 4th Round Winner by Points to Para ‘The Black Panther’ of TNT

Kit ‘The Angel from Hell’ VS Gladys ‘The Sarawak Hornbill’
The next fight of the night was a real treat. Kit, a regular face at TNT versus Gladys, also a product of Master Khoo’s training – she was a TaeKwondo student of his and lives in Sarawak but spends a lot of time in KL as she is also a student here.

For Kit, this would be her first official tournament fight whilst Gladys has a lot of experience with Sanshou (Chinese Kickboxing) and is one of the top female fighters in her weight category in Malaysia.

Final Decision: 2 Round Fight | 2nd Round TKO Winner to Kit ‘The Angel from Hell’ of TNT

‘Bloody Vampire’ Yang Chaw VS Nigel ‘The Red Indian’
‘Bloody Vampire’ Yang Chaw is a representative from MMATC and has a few tournament fights under his belt. Whilst Nigel ‘The Red Indian’, a student at TNT would be fighting his first tournament style fight – although, watching the fight – you would not have guessed that it was his first time.

He fought with so much tenacity, it looked like he was no stranger to the ring. It was a hard fought fight. With many, many blows exchanged throughout the 3 rounds. They were especially strong in the first 2 rounds and you could tell how much energy they expended when they looked obviously tired by the 3rd round but still found it in themselves to exchange a barrage of blows.

Final Decision: 3 Round Fight | Winner by Points to ‘Bloody Vampire’ Yang Chaw of MMATC

Soo ‘Pac Man’ Yi Wei VS Jonathan ‘Ragged Crow’ Hin Tung
‘Pac Man’, a fighter representing MMATC gym also happens to be the current number 2 in Malaysia for his weight category in Sanshou (Chinese Kickboxing). Putting him up against Jonathan, who is in his first tournament fight, in kickboxing rules balanced things up as ‘Pac Man’ was unable to rely on catching and throwing as he’s used to with Sanshou.

Jonathan’s boxing was excellent and was clearly the stronger boxer of the two and he used that to his advantage throughout the fight.

Final Decision: 3 Round Fight | Winner by Points to Soo ‘Pac Man’ Yi Wei of MMATC

Kelvin ‘The Mountain Goat’ Khoo VS ‘The Happy Killer’ Han Yen
This would be Kelvin’s first fight and he is a TNT student. And Han Yen has only done TaeKwondo sparring, so it was new for him as well.

This bout was very well balanced with both Fighters taking advantage of their strengths and weaknesses throughout the fight with bursts of energy as the bout went on.

Final Decision: 3 Round Fight | Winner by Points Kelvin ‘The Mountain Goat’ Khoo of TNT

Jovian ‘The Kung Fu Panda’ VS Michael ‘The Red Fox’ Lim
This was one of the most aggressive bouts of the night. Both went all out and held back nothing!

Final Decision: 4 Round Fight | Winner by Points, Michael ‘The Red Fox’ Lim of TNT

HALF TIME!

Another TNT first, the LUCKY DRAW – where 3 lucky TNT members won themselves free Personal Training sessions worth up to RM300 with the man himself, Master Khoo.

To add to the festivities, our student Carmen (who happens to be a representative from Viva Vertical) also entertained with a very sexy pole dance routine. She even managed to convince Master Khoo himself to give it a whirl.

Victor ‘The Sky Eagle’ Seow VS Sun Yaw ‘The Incredible Hulk’
After the fun and games, it was back to serious fight business.

This was a unique fight as Victor is a mere 68.5kg who was going up against Sun Yaw who weighed in at 101kg! This would be a first fight for both of them. Sun Yaw just wanted to fight and Victor wanted in on the action too and was willing to challenge Sun Yaw.

Final decision: 2 Round Fight | Winner by TKO, Sun Yaw ‘The Incredible Hulk’ of TNT

Lolita ‘The White Dragon’ VS ‘The Ice Cool’ Pin
Both fighters are a product of Master Khoo’s training. Lolita trained with Master Khoo and has one fight under her belt. Whilst Pin has been training with Master Khoo through ITF TaeKwondo for years and won her first Kickboxing fight under Master Khoo’s training as well.

Master Khoo decided that to even things out, both ladies would have a pure boxing fight.

Final decision: 3 Round Fight | Winner by Points to Lolita ‘The White Dragon’ of TNT

Alex ‘The Iron Man’ Lim VS Kumar ‘The Scorpion King’
Demo Muay Thai Fight

Both fighters have been training at TNT for years. They usually come in at the end of regular classes and happen to be Master Khoo’s friends. This demo fight was to give the audience a glimpse of what a Muay Thai bout would be like.

Kuah ‘Desert Lion King’ Theam Loong VS Kuah ‘Hill Top Tiger King’ Theam Hong

Both fighters are Founders of MMATC and are self taught MMA fighters / trainers. They also train with Master Khoo at TNT very regularly. They put on a show for the people!

Wong ‘The Predator’ Her Jien VS Wong ‘The Alien’ Her Jian

Both are national fighters for Sanshou and are in fact champions in their own right. Martial arts is their life and you can see it!

Jason ‘Pirate of Carribean’ VS Edison ‘The Black Wizard’
Jason, representing MMATC put up a hard fight with Edison, representing TNT. Amazing close to the night.
