The founder of TNT Kickboxing

Andre Thomas founded TNT Kickboxing in October 1999.

Andre comes from a strong, disciplined martial arts background of at least 20 years. His training came in a varied form of martial arts, for example, Choy Lee Fut Kung Fu, Boxing and Kickboxing.

Much of this training was conducted overseas, in England and Australia with the majority of that time being spent with the Choy Lee Fut Federation of Australia.

This also included five years of Boxing training with The Boxing Association of UNSW, Australia. Over the past ten years, Andre has successfully competed in several full contact Kung Fu tournaments and Kickboxing Championships and has held several titles.

Returning home 4 years ago, he noticed a void in the martial arts world in Malaysia. There were, of course, the strictly disciplined arts, ( taekwondo, karate, etcÖ ) however, a full-contact Kickboxing circuit / school was non-existent. He decided it was time to introduce Malaysians to the World of Kickboxing - and thus TNT Kickboxing was founded.

Having realised that there were no martial arts schools or training grounds that were properly regulated, accredited or run under specific International rules, Andre sought to achieve the highest possible International recognition for TNT Kickboxing.

Andre is the IKF ( International Kickboxing Federation ) Associate and Representative for Malaysia. TNT Kickboxing and his trainers are all accredited, sanctioned and certified by the The IKF which is based in California, USA.

In July 2001, after several years of hard work, planning and determination, Andre was responsible for bringing the First World Title Kickboxing Championship to Malaysia. It also provided Malaysians a first time opportunity to showcase their talent in the amateur kickboxing arena. It was a dream that finally materialised, and was the highlight of the year.

To this day TNT Kickboxing remains the one and only martial arts school in Malaysia to be acknowledged by any worldwide establishment such as the IKF.
