Oriental Daily News did a feature piece on TNT recently and some students who were interviewed gave their testimonies on how addictive kickboxing is and how it helped them get fit!
Furthermore, the article also did a cover on Master Khoo and TNT senior instructor Ella about their career as fighters.
The article also covers Master Khoo's announcement to retire as a fighter after winning his final fight in the "Hero Legends-World Boxing Championship" 3 years ago in 2010, and his decision to focus on being an instructor. His greatest achievement so far is training Mohd. Meeraj- who is ranked no.2 in the world of Sanshou (Chinese kickboxing)- in 6 months time.
Some words of wisdom from Master Khoo :
"You must strategise your plan during training, before getting into the ring to fight! In the ring, you don't have the time to think. You can only rely on instinct."
It also promotes Master Khoo as the International Sport Kickboxing Association (ISKA) representative for Malaysia.
As for Ella, it features her decision to compete in a more full contact sport compared to Taekwon-Do which is more technical.
In the eyes of many, full contact sports such as kickboxing, muay thai and MMA are for men. But Ella states that in the ring, gender is not important, what's important is your spirit and passion as a fighter. Most of the time during training, the other fighters don't hold back on her!
According to Ella, her character in the ring cannot be applied to her real character.
"In the ring, I am completely focused on defeating her opponent. But outside the ring, I can get along with pretty much anybody." - Ella
